"They wern't only the audience, not only looking on; they were acting. Even she had a part and came every Sunday. No doubt somebody would have noticed if she hadn't been there; she was part of the performance after all." (Wolff 86)
This quote stood out to me in a couple different ways. I strongly believe that every human plays a very important role to their community. It takes a certian skill that we have as a person to work together as a team. Even if it is just a part in a play or a position at a job everyone is a part in something. This quote caught my attention because it made me stop and think what role I play a part in everyday. It makes people feel good to know they are needed.

Hi, Jamie. Can you connect this quote to the story? What is the context? Who is the character? Why is her "role" in the "performance" important? Nancy
